OWASP and introduction to Hacking

Welcome to the TeensThatHack’s Ethical hacking course, let’s get ready to hack!

Before diving into the particulars, we need to get familiar with OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project). As the name suggests, it is a freely available community resource featuring various articles, methodologies, documentation, tools, and technologies relating to cybersecurity.

But, how is this important to us?

The main importance of OWASP comes into its ranking of OWASP’s top 10, a ranking of the most frequently occurred bugs, basically the OSCARS of cybersecurity.

‘OWASP’s top 10' is a term you will encounter frequently and these top 10 bugs are the ones we will start to learn with.

If you feel intimidated or have no idea about what any of them are, then don’t worry we will dive deeper into them as the course progresses. In the meantime try researching on them.
